A comparative analysis of the mass spectra of dihydropyridine carboxylates derivatives and drugs dimethyl-1,4-dihydro-2,6-dimethyl-4-(2-nitrophenyl)-3,5-pyridinedicarboxylate (nifedipine) and 3-ethyl-5-methyl-2-[(2-aminoethoxy) methyl]-4-(2-chlorophenyl)-6-methyl-1,4-dihydro-3,5-pyridinedicarboxylate (amlodipine). The fragmentation features of the studied molecular ions of dihydropyridine carboxylates are characterized and presented. It was determined that the release of the substituent from the C4 position of the pyridine ring is common for dihydropyridine carboxylates derivatives under the conditions of electron ionization mass spectrometry.
