The work is devoted to the mass-spectrometric study and comparative analysis of mass-spectrometric fragmentation of molecular ions of 1,6,8-trihydroxy-3methyl-9,10-anthraquinone (emodin) and its mono- and dimethyl ether. The influence of the substituent on the stability of molecular ions to ionization by electrons is considered, and schemes for their mass-spectrometric decay proposed. It is shown that the fragmentation of the derivatives depends on the location of the substituent in the anthraquinone system.
