МODIFYING THE INFLUENCE OF TITANIUM AND ZIRCONIUM DIOXIDES ON THE PROPERTIES OF THE VANADIUM OXIDE CATALYST IN THE VAPOR-PHASE OXIDATION OF 3-METHYLPYRIDINE
Keywords:
oxidation, 3-methylpyridine, nicotinic acid, catalystsAbstract
The nature of the modifying effect of titanium- and zirconium dioxide on the properties of the vanadium oxide catalyst in the vapor-phase oxidation of 3-methylpyridine is discussed. It was found that the vanadium oxide catalyst, modified by TiO2 and ZrO2 additions, showed the highest activity in the studied process. Nicotinic acid was obtained with the yield of 68% at 270 °C and a molar ratio of 3-methylpyridine:O2:H2O = = 1:13:94.
