For the first time, 2-deoxy-20-hydroxyecdysone (2-deoxyecdysterone) has been isolated from the above-ground part of Silenefruticulosa (Pall.) Schischk (Caryophyllaceae Juss. family). The formation of complex of phytoecdysteroids with γ-cyclodextrin has been studied with the help of NMR spectroscopy. Due to changing the chemical shifts of the substrate and receptor protons, it has been revealed that 2-deoxy-20-hydroxyecdysone interacts with γ-cyclodextrin to form a supramolecular inclusion complex of the stoichiometric composition of 1:1 with the entry of the fragment A of the substrate molecule into the inner cavity of the receptor.
